The prefecture of Elis (Ilia) lies on the coasts of northwestern Peloponnese and has an Ionian Sea coastline.

The prefecture of Elis shares borders to the north with Achaia, to the east with Arcadia, to the south with Messinia, whereas to the west, it has an Ionian Sea coastline.
