The prefecture of Elis (Ilia) lies on the coasts of northwestern Peloponnese and has an Ionian Sea coastline.
It is prefecture gifted both of nature and history. It is the birthplace of Olympic Games, and ancient Olympia attracts tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world every year. Elis has historical monuments and wonderful beaches, it is a region of many advantage, Roads are in good state and allow for the exploration of the prefecture, as well as quick trips to other regions in the Peloponnese, whereas it is linked by rail and ship to other areas in Greece. The prefecture of Elis shares borders to the north with Achaia, to the east with Arcadia, to the south with Messinia, whereas to the west, it has an Ionian Sea coastline.
