The carnival of Patras, is one of the biggest carnivals in Europe, and counts 180 years of history. The event, starts this year on 17 January, with a nice Ceremony.

Patras Carnival is famous around the world. It has a set of events including dances, parades (involving approximately 40,000 carnivalists), Treasure Hunt, Carnival of Children, street theater, exhibitions, films, and many more. The event ends with the big parade and the burning of the King Carnival in the port of Patras, the last Sunday before the Clean Monday on 2 March (the first day of the Eastern Orthodox Christian).
