Lousios

Lousios is a Peloponnesian river, affluent of the longest river of Peloponnese, Alfeios, that flows through Arcadia and Elis. According to the traditional myth, the nymphs bathed the new born Zeus in the waters of Lousios river, right after he was borned, and that is where it took its name from. "Lousios = Louzomai = bathing.

Lousios is passing through, an impressive gorge of 15 Km, until it reaches Alfeios river.
Many sport activities take place, such us: Rafting, Trekking and Canyoning.

Lousios river, has many places to visit, except the natural beauty and the sports, it has also, a Hydrokinetic Museum which is in western part of Dimitsana.
