Very close to Isthmus of Corinth.
It was named after the festivities taking place here in the antiquity. Isthmia was the third out of four major Greek festivities. The other three were Olympia, Pythia, and Nemea. The settlement is at the lowest part of canal linking the Peloponnese with mainland Greece.
